Florida Concealed Weapons Permit Class Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

A. Call (813) 787-7120 to register for our four-hour basic Pistol Training and Concealed Carry Permit Class. You will get a state application packet and law book. At the end of class you will receive a certificate to prove you attended training. You send the application packet and certificate to the state and they mail you a permit if you meet their other eligibility requirements.

Q. Do You Offer Fingerprinting, Photo, and Notary Service?

A. Yes, I include a Passport photo and notary service!  However, I do not do the fingerprinting.  I recommend taking advantage of the Tampa Police Department's one-stop processing service that includes electronic fingerprinting.  I have seen situations where fingerprints were not taken correctly causing them to be unacceptable.  It is an art to fingerprint someone.   We want to ensure that students don't get their applications returned because of smudged fingerprints.

Q. Do I Need a Gun Before I Can Take Your Class?

A. No. There is no charge for using my gun and ammunition in the four-hour Basic Florida Concealed Weapons Permit Class. You may bring your own firearm or rent one for use during the course.

Q. What Are Your Certifications to Teach These Classes

A. I am a National Rifle Association Certified Instructor.  I'm certified to train Basic Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Refuse to be a Victim seminars and a Range Safety Officer.

Q. I don't want to get a Florida CWP, but want to be trained to use my firearm safely.  Do you offer that?

A. Absolutely!  As I mentioned on my front page, my mission is to properly train individuals on how to safely handle a firearm while concealing it properly and having it readily accessible.  Call me for details!

Q.  When Are Your Classes Held?

A. It really depends on how many people take the class and where they are located.  Most classes will occur within the Tampa Bay Area.
